Patch Tips!

Why is The Patch the way of the future? Newsweek magazine will follow so many others before them in transitioning to an online-only format in January 2013, ending circulation of the print publication after 80 years. The new version will be called Newsweek Global. Today, some 39 percent of Americans say they get their news from an online source, according to a Pew Research Center study released last month. It is the judgment of many that we have reached a tipping point at which the all-digital format is here to stay and on the rise.

The New York City-based hedge fund Millennium Partners L.P. renewed a lease at 1700 East Putnam Ave. in Greenwich, with its more than 40,000 square feet nearly double the original space it secured there in 2006.  In my experience, hedge funds are like law firms — the companies don’t give or at least don’t give nearly as much as do the individuals within them. The food given was often a Soul Cake. Here’s a clever infographic describing Halloween.

Thought for the Day

“Culture eats strategy for breakfast.”

This observation, attributed to Peter Drucker and popularized by Ford Motor Company, where the framed message continues to hang in the companyʼs War Room, illumines how creativity, innovation, and a sense of responsibility for the entire organization inform a culture in which each member and therefore therefore the cause can thrive.
